Country Grammer 10 Million Sales
Sixteen years after its original release, Nelly's blockbuster debut album Country Grammar has finally been certified diamond by the RIAA. That's right, the St. Louis, Mo. rapper has officially moved 10 million units of his first album, which first came out back in 2000.
There are only 7 other rap albums in history that share the same status, as certified by the RIAA, including projects from 2Pac, Eminem, Outkast, The Notorious B.I.G. and MC Hammer.
The unique double release Sweat & Suit, sold more then 6 million copies and made Nelly the first solo artist in history to simultanesously make album chart entries at No.1 & No.2.
Cruise 10 Million Sales
The hit song "Cruise" has been certified diamond and is the first country song to achieve that feat. On the country track, Nelly provides a guest verse for country-pop duo Florida Georgia Line. The original version of the song fared well but when the St. Louis rapper added his verse, the song shot to the top of the Billboard Country Song chart. It peaked at No. 4 on the Hot 100. The track also stayed at the No. 1 spot on Hot Country Songs for 24 weeks -- longer than any other song in 70 years.
